Is a career in coaching right for you?

Based on your answers — yes. Unambiguously yes.

WHAT YOUR ANSWERS Showcase
You didn’t stumble onto this assessment randomly. You came here because the idea of coaching has been living in you for a while, and you’re interested in exploring what comes next.

You have a clear sense of why you want to do this. You can picture what your coaching practice looks like. You understand that this is a real career move, not a hobby. And you’re ready to get started.

That's exactly the right place to be.
BUT LET'S BE HONEST ABOUT THE VOICE IN YOUR HEAD
You're ready, but there's probably still a voice that says you're not.

"Who am I to call myself a coach?"
"I don't have the training yet…"
"What if I get a client and don't know what to do?"

Every coach you've ever admired has had this exact conversation with themselves. The ones who built real practices didn't wait for the voice to stop. They got trained, got resourced, began practicing, and the confidence came from knowledge and doing the work, not from waiting to “feel ready” before they started.

Coaching is a learnable skill. The instinct you already have (to listen deeply, ask the right questions, help people see what they can't see themselves) that's the raw material. Training gives it structure, rigor, and a professional foundation. You bring the rest.

What Coaching Actually Is – And Isn't

Coaching is not therapy. It's not consulting. It's not giving advice.

Coaching is a client-led process. Your job isn't to fix people or tell them what to do. It's to ask powerful questions, hold space, and help your clients find their own answers… the ones they already have inside them.

What you need is the training to know how to show up, how to listen, and how to ask questions that help others get unstuck. That's what Lumia was built to teach.

MEET SOMEONE WHO WAS EXACTLY WHERE YOU ARE

Graciela Moore was working full-time for a large corporation. She had the salary, the benefits, the stability. She also had no time, and a growing feeling that she was capable of something more.

She signed up for Lumia with a plan to coach on the side. She didn't expect what happened next.

"Little did I know I would find such amazing tools in this program, enough to help me be brave and quit early. Now I am a full-time personal coach. I help people thrive in confidence, through mindfulness and hope."

Steps to Start your
Life Coaching Practice

I know this might feel like we're moving pretty fast here, but it's crystal clear that you'd make an amazing life coach. If you're ready to move forward and start the process, here's your coaching career game plan.

Step 1: Commit to the direction.

You've already done this. Your quiz answers confirm it. The question now is which program is the right fit and when you start.

Step 2: Get trained properly.

Not all training is equal. What you're looking for: ICF accreditation, live instruction with real coaching practice, small cohort sizes, experienced instructors, and a community that continues after graduation.

Lumia's program is 20 weeks of live instruction, built around the ICF core competencies, with 25 hours of practical coaching experience built in. When you graduate, you're not just certified, you're ready to practice.

Step 3: Get into practice.

The biggest mistake new coaches make is waiting until everything is perfect before working with clients. It never will be. The skill builds in the doing. Lumia builds coaching practice directly into the curriculum, so by the time you graduate, you've already coached real people and gotten real feedback.
