Lumia offers life coach certification that provides deep education and personal development, prepares you to work in a variety of settings as a coach, and offers practical tools to help launch your practice.
Every student in Lumia’s coach training program starts with Essentials. As a stand-alone program, it provides everything you need to learn the craft of coaching, participate in live coaching observation, earn your coach certification, and launch a coaching practice upon graduation.
If you’re interested in picking up advanced skills, or plan to pursue your ICF coaching credential, then Signature is the way to go. Upon completion of the Essentials program, you’ll seamlessly continue on to the next stage of your training.
Let’s find out which pathway is right for you!
Ready to get coaching in six months or less? Then the Essentials program is what you’re looking for! It includes 21 weeks of live instruction, with breaks for major holidays.
For motivated go-getters who want to fast-track it, we also offer Essentials in a condensed, 10 week Expedited format. Same great content, just delivered in half the time!
Time commitment: 2 hour live class once per week on Zoom.
3-5 additional hours of independent work outside of class that includes pre-work, homework, and coaching practice
What you get: Upon successful completion of the program, graduates receive an internationally recognized life coach certification from Lumia. You’ll also have 25 client coaching experience hours under your belt!
Not sure if you want to pursue ICF ACC or PCC credentialing yet?
Enroll in Essentials and you can add on the Signature program at any time, for an additional fee. (Worth noting: there’s a pricing advantage to bundling Essentials and Signature together at the start of your training!)
If you plan to coach professionally, want to pursue coaching jobs at large companies, work as an executive or business coach, or just develop more confidence, expertise and experience as a life coach, we encourage you to pursue credentialing through Lumia’s Signature Program.
Upon graduating from Essentials, Signature students advance on for an additional 3 months of education. This includes 16 weeks of live instruction, with breaks for major holidays.
The Signature program fully supports you on the pathway to either your ACC (Associated Certified Coach) and PCC (Professional Certified Coach) Credential with the International Coaching Federation.
Time commitment: 5-7 hours per week
What you get: A one-stop shop for completing your ICF credentialing requirements. When you graduate from Signature, you’ll have the education and mentor hours you need to apply for your ACC or PCC. You’ll also complete an in-house coaching Performance Evaluation that’s submitted to the ICF in support of your application.
Along the way, you’ll have accumulated 50 live coaching hours toward the total you will need in order to apply for your ACC (100 hours) or the PCC (500 hours). Once you finish Signature, all that’s left is to complete your minimum hours requirement, apply with the ICF, and sit for the credentialing exam after your application is approved.
The Signature path provides extra training and practice to prepare you to obtain your ICF ACC or PCC Credentials. It also supports you in launching a stronger professional practice through an immersion in the ICF Core Competencies.
You’ll further refine and enhance your skills with an additional 3 months of valuable coaching experience and feedback from credentialed instructors and mentors.
The Signature ICF Credentialing Path will provide everything you need to meet the ICF educational requirements and apply for your ACC or PCC credentials.
The only remaining requirements will be the rest of your ICF coaching experience hours and completing the ICF Credentialing Exam.
The Signature Program focuses on meeting the ICF Core Competencies, Credentialing Standards, and Behavioral Markers. It consists of recorded lectures, live classes, ICF Credentialing Exam prep quizzes, mentor sessions, and observational coaching.
Live classes will provide you with coaching case studies, group discussion, ICF Core Competency review, coaching skills application, and practical experience through group coaching and breakout sessions.
Your final graduation requirement will be to complete your ICF Performance Evaluation toward your ACC or PCC Credential.
Group Mentoring: You will receive 7.5 hours of small group mentor sessions as part of the program. Group mentoring occurs between classes and typically consists of Q&A, group discussion, observational practice coaching, and a deeper dive into the Signature curriculum with your mentor coach.
One-on-One Mentoring: You will receive three individual mentoring sessions as part of the Signature Program. You will have a variety of experienced Lumia Mentor Coaches to choose from and the opportunity to schedule these sessions at your convenience.
Your final Performance Evaluation is where you demonstrate your understanding of the ICF Core Competencies and Behavioral Markers necessary to meet the ICF’s standards for an ACC or PCC credential.
You’ll receive your scorecard from our in-house PCC Evaluator, and a passing score will support your eligibility to apply for your credential with the ICF.
Throughout the program, you will participate in observational coaching sessions with written feedback to improve your coaching skills and prepare you to successfully pass your ICF Performance Evaluation. These will take place both live in-class and as recordings, where you will receive written customized feedback from our in-house Observation Coach.
